Spend quality time with family in a way that is both decorative and practical. Find creative ways to use old materials - turn well-loved clothes or T-shirts into awesome quilts. Plus your sewing skills will come in handy if you need to sew on buttons or patch up your clothes. This course helps you to build up your confidence by starting with the basics while still producing beautiful handmade handicrafts. It then lifts your spirits further by empowering you to create more sophisticated designs.

You will be required to complete each lesson in full, and answer exams at the end of each course module. If your pass rate exceeds 55% on each exam then you are eligible to access a certificate of achievement or other accreditation options to recognize your achievement.

Most of our courses will earn you credits through Continuing Education (CE) / Continuing Professional Development (CPD). CE/CPD points are accepted and recognized by professional member bodies and academic institutions across the US and internationally.

All courses are accredited by the International Council for Online Educational Standards (www.icoes.org).  When successfully completing a course, students can choose to purchase an ICOES certificate that recognizes the achievement, from this third-party institution.

Wendy Sheppard & Gwendolyn Sheppard

Expertise: Quilting

Wendy Sheppard began her career as a chemical engineer, but in 2005, with encouragement from a friend and no prior experience, she made her first quilt. Now Wendy's original designs have been featured in numerous quilting magazines and she designs patterns for several major fabric companies. Wendy’s daughter, Gwendolyn, is one of Aurifil's first batch of "Aurikids," part of an initiative to reach out to the next generation of crafters and sewists. Quiltmaker Magazine published an article on Wendy and Gwendolyn quilting together, and Wendy was a guest on Pat Sloan's podcast talking about stitching with her daughter.
