With both text and video lessons, Baby Care 101 gives you the tools you need to help prepare you for your newborn. You’ll learn parenting essentials that will help you keep your newborn clean, cozy, and happy. From bathing and diapering to soothing and breastfeeding, learn the basics so you’ll feel more confident as you prepare for the big day.

This course is brought to you by lactation and baby care experts, Corky Harvey, MS, RN, IBCLC and Wendy Haldeman MN, RN, IBCLC, who together have 70 years of experience with babies. Study their expert advice and learn how to be the best parent you can be for your new baby.

How will it help me

This course will help you to become the best parent possible. It’ll help guide you through the challenges that come with having a newborn baby. You will gain expert advice and different tools and techniques on how to help your baby thrive in their first year of life. When the baby is happy, so are the parents!

Certification

You will be required to complete each lesson in full, and answer exams at the end of each course module. If your pass rate exceeds 55% on each exam then you are eligible to access a certificate of achievement or other accreditation options to recognize your achievement.

Most of our courses will earn you credits through Continuing Education (CE) / Continuing Professional Development (CPD). CE/CPD points are accepted and recognized by professional member bodies and academic institutions across the US and internationally.

All courses are accredited by the International Council for Online Educational Standards (www.icoes.org) and the ​The International Association of Private Career Colleges (www.iapcc.org). When successfully completing a course, students can choose to purchase an ICOES certificate that recognizes the achievement, from this third-party institution.

Corky Harvey is a co-founder of the Pump Station & Nurtury™ - the first new parent resource center of its kind. She is a registered nurse with a master's degree in maternal/newborn Nursing, and an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. She teaches breastfeeding and baby care classes, facilitates the New Mother Breastfeeding Support Groups, and is a frequent guest lecturer. Corky has three grown children who were breastfed and she loves to claim that their intelligence is linked to this. Corky also has two grandsons.

    For over forty years, Wendy has dedicated her life to helping new parents and infants within the Los Angeles, Santa Monica, Brentwood, Beverly Hills, and Culver City areas. As the co-founder of The Pump Station and a lactation consultant, she has helped literally thousands of babies and become one of the most well-respected lactation experts in the country. Wendy is a Registered Nurse with a Master's Degree in Maternal/Child Health and Nursing and is certified by the International Board for Lactation Consultants.
