Mikael Jasin, co-owner of SSG Coffee Company and 2019 World Barista Championship finalist, has condensed years of barista experience into one, all-inclusive video course. In Professional Barista, you'll learn how to get the most from your coffee roast, the ins and outs of the typical equipment found in a coffee shop, how to make everything from americano coffee through lattes, all about steaming, frothing, and creating free pour latte art, and tips for remembering complicated orders, working during rush hour, and dealing with tricky customers.

    Most of our courses will earn you credits through Continuing Education (CE) / Continuing Professional Development (CPD). CE/CPD points are accepted and recognized by professional member bodies and academic institutions across the US and internationally.

    All courses are accredited by the International Council for Online Educational Standards (www.icoes.org). When successfully completing a course, students can choose to purchase an ICOES certificate that recognizes the achievement, from this third-party institution.

    Expertise: Barista Training

    Mikael Jasin is the founder of SSG Coffee Company. He started his coffee journey in 2012 while living in Melbourne, Australia before eventually leading the coffee bars of some of Melbourne's busiest cafes. He moved back to his native Indonesia in 2017 to join Common Grounds Coffee Roasters & ST Ali Jakarta. Mikael is also a coffee competitor and won the Indonesian Barista Championship in 2019. He went on to become the first Indonesian to be a World Barista Championship finalist, coming 4th in WBC Boston, 2019.
